Once you’re ready to apply, this is where it all begins. Prospective international students should submit an online application as soon as possible in their final year of secondary school (high school) and by November 1 for maximum scholarship consideration.
Michigan State University accepts undergraduate applications as long as space is available.
However, the number of qualified applicants has exceeded the available space in recent years, so students should apply early to ensure the highest consideration. Most students enter the fall semester.
Admission to other semesters may be limited, if available at all.
Three ways to apply
Select the option that is right for you, but only submit one application for admission. MSU has no preference for which application type you select (MSU or Common).
Applicants who apply through the MSU application will receive an applicant ID that allows them to save their progress and submit when they are ready.
Note: If you have studied at any college or university after graduating from secondary school (high school) you must apply as a transfer student.
