Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN introduced the bank verification number (BVN) to help reduce fraud, financial crime, theft, etc. 

Banks use the bank verification number (BVN) to identify each bank account owner. It contains information such as name, age, date of birth, fingerprint, picture, etc.  

 

How to Check BVN on Access Bank

The bank verification number (BVN) is an 11-digit number which makes it difficult to remember most times.

Access has put in place ways by which its customers can easily check their BVN number easily from wherever they are. These ways are:

  1. Through USSD Code
  2. Through Access Bank Mobile App
  3. Through WhatsApp
  4. Visit any Access Bank Branch

 

  1. Through USSD Code

 

This is by far the easiest and simplest way of checking your BVN on access bank. Here, you do not need an internet connection.

To use this method, follow the steps below:

  • Dial *565*0# on your mobile phone using the phone number linked to your access bank account.
  • After pressing send, it will display your BVN number on your screen.

Note – This code works on all network providers e.g MTN, GLO, AIRTEL, etc There is also a fee of #20 naira attached to it.

 

  1. Through Access Bank Mobile App

The access bank mobile app serves as an alternative way of checking your BVN through access bank. Follow the procedure below to get it done.

  • Download the access bank mobile app (AccessMore) on Playstore of Appstore
  • Log in using your username and password. If you are a new user, register using your card details
  • Once you have successfully signed in, click on Profiles in the bottom right corner of your screen 
  • Click on Show Details 
  • Your BVN will appear on your screen immediately.

 

  1. Through WhatsApp

Here, all you need to do is contact the access bank customer agent on WhatsApp through 09090901901. 

Save the phone number on your phone and send a message stating your request on WhatsApp.

Provide the agent with the information asked in order to confirm that you are the owner of the account before you can be sent your BVN. 

 

  1. Visit any Access Bank Branch

If none of the other ways of accessing your BVN on access bank is available at your disposal, then you can go for this. 

Visit any access bank nearest to you and approach the customer care service desk to request your BVN. 

You will be asked to provide some information like account name, account number, valid means of identification, etc
